Dancing on a knife edge

The reason you haven’t seen much of me is because I spent seven months healing from a severe infection of a surgical wound. I had two readmissions, and I can’t thank all the surgical staff, nurses, friends, family, district health Nurses who helped me along the way. The journey was incredibly difficult. Very difficult indeed. I had two drains on either side of my body at one stage. I made it. I decided to go to ball room dancing classes – but that time was cut short when New Zealand moved to Level 4.

I want to clear up a misconception many people have about an illness. It requires alot of energy, toughness of mind, to overcome something like this – or at least – to simply push forward. Moral, emotional, and spiritual support was very important to me. Especially when I was drifting between this world and the next.
